How long are the videos? The Story Collective videos are a longer format than most, and that’s because we like to delve into lives, ask the big questions and really tease out some of the important texture that really defines a person’s place in history. In the end, you will have anywhere from 40 minutes to just over an hour, on average. We can also add in extras such as family pictures or vision from old homes or historical landmarks that make sense to the story. If you’d like this added element, we can talk about the time that will take and additional costs involved in that when we connect.
-
Where will we do the video itself?Ideally, the video will be held in the home or residence of the subject, as it’s where they are most comfortable and at-ease. On the day of filming we will work out the best location and most probably tweak some furniture and positioning to ensure we get the best possible vision.
-
What questions will you ask? When we begin the process together, the subject will receive a questionnaire with all sorts of questions that will help prompt topics and get them excited about telling their stories. In general terms, we want to cover from childhood right through to the current day, and we will have the opportunity to touch on all of the important – and also the seemingly irrelevant and often VERY important – stuff too.
-
How long does the process take?Generally allow about a month from first contact to shooting the content. You’ll get a quote and an agreement, then a couple of weeks to complete the questionnaire. On the day itself allow about three hours to ensure the camera and lighting can be set up properly, and allows us plenty of time to cover off all of the topics we need to!
